His Jamaican parents raised him on reggae and classic R&B, however it was his love for hip-hop that drove him to become a primetime on-air DJ for Boston's #1 station JAMN 94.5 where he became one of the premiere voices of the city! He developed his gifts, his pen game & an ear for music, to craft a unique sound that stands out everywhere! Maverik's music is truly an artform, combining Jamaican & American flows, clever lyrics & catchy hooks, evoking the spirit of hip-hop's golden era. His beat selection is top tier. Point blank, the man makes hits! Maverik is inspired by icons like Pharrell Williams, Andre 3000, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and Kid Cudi to name a few. His music has been played on radio stations around the world, featured in commercials, national campaign ads and on several mixtapes. He's opened for Lil Wayne, Future, Rick Ross and many of the biggest names in hip hop. He's also the Official DJ of the Boston Redsox and has received multiple awards from the city of Boston for community activism with the youth.
